I wanted to show a demonstration of how we combine cupping with therapeutic massage.  We consistently get great results and feedback from clients.  Our experienced and strong therapists glide the cups along the skin, musculature, etc which releases scar tissue, breaks up adhesions, and is the best form of myofascial release that I've ever experienced.  
Cupping is an alternative therapy that uses suction cups to stimulate your skin and muscles. It can be done on your face or body. The suction promotes increased blood circulation, which may help relieve muscle tension, promote cell repair, and aid in other regeneration.
The vacuum produced from cupping causes a localized expansion of the tissue. This facilitates a profound vasodilation reaction to increase circulation/blood flow to painful constricted areas.
Cupping pulls up an area of skin into a suction that decompresses muscles and connective tissue. This promotes blood flow to the compromised area, enhances circulation and helps to increase the body's own healing processes — almost like a backward deep tissue massage.
Skin is oiled and the cups are then moved over the skin in a gliding motion which removes knots and provides relief from inflammation.
Cupping aids your body in releasing toxins. Focused blood flow helps your body by flushing built-up toxins through the lymphatic system.  Your lymphatic system is responsible for eliminating your body's toxins and waste.

I demonstrate back extension type exercises on this 45 degree bench.  Many humans do not do enough extension type exercises, or even know what a 45 degree bench is or a reverse hyper extension.  Old school body building mentality incorporated much more flexion type sit-up and crunch exercises possibly because these are anterior muscles and they are more visible.  "Every body wants a six pack."  However, a reason why many people have weak backs is simply because we do not strengthen our back muscles enough or adequately into extension.  This video demonstrates a very important aspect that should be included in most fundamentally sound full body strengthening routines.

I demonstrate one of my favorite and most important exercises for overall shoulder health, etc.  It's a ROM (Range of Motion) exercise, so it not only strengthens your body, but it also stretches your shoulder into external rotation which counteracts common age related posture decline of internally rotated shoulders, forward head, and a hunch back that many people develop as they age.

"Live Long & Healthy Podcast" Mission Statement:  To provide lengthy, unedited, conversations between myself and other local healthcare professionals and various different health & wellness experts.  There's a lot of biased, misinformation out there, as to what's really healthy for you, and what to do when you're in pain, etc.  Too many commercials are pumped out by drug companies on how to treat disease, mask, or reduce symptoms, but there's not enough accurate information on how to better educate the general public on PREVENTION and how to live a healthier lifestyle.  

Throughout these podcasts, we'll continue to teach the public what a healthier lifestyle looks like.  It has become evident to me that most people are unaware of how simple it can be to make healthier choices.  If there's one thing I'm sure of since becoming a Chiropractor in 2008, and before that a personal trainer in 1999:  most people are not living a healthy enough lifestyle to combat obesity, heart disease, and all of the other major health risks that we face as human beings today.  This is partly to blame that not enough emphasis is placed upon teaching healthy lifestyle choices.  I also believe that most adults are unaware of the many different lifestyle choices which can be chosen and potentially could improve ones health.  When it comes to medicine, nutrition, exercise, vitamins, physical and mental stress, etc, there's a lot of gray area, theories, and debate when it comes to what decisions or actions should be taken to improve ones health.  This is why physicians all practice medicine, it's never always perfect. Many of these topics are difficult to comprehend and very complex.  They require a certain level of nuanced thinking to sift through all of the talking points, differing opinions, etc in order to objectively come up with appropriate and factual conclusions.  

As an educational resource, these conversations will be helpful with how you can incorporate healthier choices into every day life.  We will introduce the concept of self-care, and discuss all of its various levels.   We will help bridge the gap between physical and mental health, while explaining how closely they are related.

After listening to this type of independent podcast, I can't imagine how you won't come away with living a healthier lifestyle.  This type of unedited conversation, provides the listener with a deep dive into various health and wellness related topics instead of the common for profit talking points or click bait headlines that we normally get from main stream, corporate run media.
